To verify your power bills, start by entering your fixed-rate electricity and gas energy plan.

EnergydorNZ makes this easy — just input your kWh rate, standing charge, and taxes.

Once saved, these values are applied to your readings automatically, giving you an accurate, real-time view of your actual energy costs.

EnergydorNZ is currently designed for fixed-rate power plans only and does not support variable, Feed-in Tariffs (FIT) or time-of-use power plans. This is intentional, as fixed plans provide the most consistent and reliable basis for accurate, independent tracking of your energy costs.

Step 2 - Log Your Meter Reads. See Your Real Energy Use.

Each month — ideally just before your bill is issued — take a manual reading from your electricity and gas meters and enter it into EnergydorNZ.

Even with a smart meter, always check the physical display to avoid glitches or missing data. This ensures you're working with real, verifiable numbers.

EnergydorNZ uses your manual meter readings to calculate your true energy costs — not vague estimates or assumptions. With an accuracy rate of 99.75%, it gives you near-perfect insight into what you’re actually using and what you should be paying. If you're being overcharged, you’ll know — and you'll have the proof to challenge it.

Step 3 - Add Timestamped Photos for Proof

Attach photos of your electricity or natural gas meter to each reading. Each image is timestamped automatically.

This gives you verifiable proof if you ever need to dispute a bill with:

  • Natural gas providers
  • Landlords

All photos stay on your device nothing is uploaded or shared.
